Two-A-Day: 7×400 Speed Workout; Weights

Who: Alone
What: 7×400 Speed Workout
Where: Neighborhood Loop

Who: Ali
What: Weights
Where: Planet Fitness Downingtown

A little tip for Garmin Forerunner owners. If you are running at night and want the backlight to stay on constantly, just go to Settings -> General -> Display -> Backlight Timeout and set it to stay on. Of course, this will likely eat the battery, but it made tonight’s repeats much better, especially since repeats are all about the starting and stopping rather than regular distance running.

After doing my repeats, Ali and I met up and we went to the gym. She did elliptical and I did my arm and core circuits.

Run stats… after the jump.

1×400
6:57 /mi pace
153 bpm

2×400
6:38 /mi pace (legs were warmed up)
151 bpm

3×400
6:24 /mi pace (ooo)
158 bpm

4×400
6:43 /mi pace (getting tired)
160 bpm

5×400
6:53 /mi pace (ick)
161 bpm

6×400
7:00 /mi pace (it’s like the Hindenburg over here)
161 bpm

7×400
6:24 /mi pace (okay, I had some gas left)
165 bpm

This workout makes me uneasy. No way I could have done it. 7?! I would have done 8. Gotta have whole numbers. Gotta do 2 miles instead of 1.75 miles. Yes, I have whole number issues.

Great speed on the 400s! And thanks for the heads up on the backlight thing. I figured that functionality had to be there, but hadn’t dug for it yet. And it’s a huge pain to hit the light button every 30 seconds when trying to pace in the dark
