12 Mile Run

Who: Team Challenge People
What: 12 Mile Run
Where: Starting at Valley Forge and running… the opposite direction from previous runs.

This was a tough one. I will admit, I made a very stupid mistake. I was running late, and I didn’t eat properly in the morning. (Meaning, at all). I did pretty well through 9 miles on an empty stomach. But 10, 11 and 12 were just plain bad. Even with all that, I was still within range of my goal. It would’ve taken a superhuman effort to get it in another mile but… I’m taking it as a positive that such a challenging run still ending up within shooting distance of my goal finish time.

Afterward, I took an ice bath in hopes that it would speed recovery time.

Yes, that was its own kind of pain, but it does seem to have helped. My legs fell pretty good today. I have a weird twinge in my back though… which I do not like.

I should note that again I’ve been bad and have not been posting all runs. I also did a 3 mile run on Friday. I have every intention of doing of doing 4 miles tonight. So as you read this, just… assume that I did!
