I have just seen the worst commercial ever. It jumped out at me because I saw a similar commercial last night that similarly horrified me. They must have made a series of these things! A quick search revealed more information, but you should have to hear just one thing if you've seen them before: James Carville's skinny-ass legs.
Google tells me that these commericals cost $30 million dollars and also feature Jesse Ventura:
Metro One is promoting its new service through a national radio and television advertising campaign that will cost approximately $30 million. Part of the advertising campaign, developed by Portland's Wieden + Kennedy, will feature celebrities such as former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura and political strategist James Carville.
I cannot imagine the people who made these ads saying, "Yeah, we could just show shots of James Carvilles little skinny chicken legs! It will seduce women and gay men, and straight men will question their hetero status!" But someone out there must have said it because, like, there he is. Almost naked. From the waste down. For around 30 seconds.
Excuse me while I use a shotgun to scrub my brain clean.
The ads are really horrifying. I really can't quantify how bad they are despite this valiant attempt... you truly have to see them to understand. I now not only don't want to buy an 'infone', whatever the hell that is... I also have to puke. Now that's good marketing!
