The Hulk Mini-Review

Ang Lee was almost too much director for this movie. Almost.

Check out any other comic book movie. The directors handle things with just the slightest edge of cheekiness - even in Batman. After all, you can take a guy who dresses up in tights only so seriously before it falls apart.

Ang Lee treated his material very seriously. He attempted to make a comic epic. He almost succeeded.

Nice, slow pacing and tons of character work in the early going. Excellent acting, especially by Nick Nolte and Jennifer Connelly. Story was a bit weak here and there and implausibly strange in spots. The end battle totally threw me out of the movie and I didn't particularly care for it.

I can't say enough positive things about the direction though. Even though the movie falls apart in places, the director did such a masterful job that it is worth seeing. He understands the value of placing parallels, of using reflections in his shots, and his transitions were really unique and, well, incredible... heh.

Solid B.

On another note entirely... uh. Yeah. We bought a new bed today. About freaking time too.

So, what was the size of the bed? Brand?
How did you get it to your apartment? What did you do with your old bed?

Queen. Posture-something, but not posturepedic. It is being delivered by the furniture store tomorrow. We'll be throwing the old bed out. It is just too old and it needs to be put out of its misery. :-)
