Snippets

Short? Yes. Pithy? Perhaps. But meaningless?

But of course.

  • The morning was gorgeous, and walking out at lunchtime I wanted to skip out for the afternoon rather than return to work. But now it is gray outside my window. It may rain on me on my walk to the train station. Ugh.
  • Saints lost. Boo. But I am up by 14 in my fantasy football league going into tonight. Yay! The league is scratching me where my number-crunching stat-munching itch sits. This itch is also what makes me half-way decent at my job, I think. Moving through numbers and finding patterns is fun to me... It is a sickness.
  • Oh, hey. Who cancelled summer? Fall, so soon? We've had a rough winter, a miserable spring, and a bad summer. Here is hoping for a nice, lengthy fall, with plenty of sunny temperate days. But I doubt it.
  • As anniversaries go, I don't like the one that is coming up. Many feelings there. I'll probably make a post on the day and try to articulate some of them.
  • At least the anniversary following that one is a good one. One year married. Holy crap!
  • I'm playing Warioware like a madman on the GBA. I can't. stop. playing. the. stupid. tetris. knockoff. game. Someone make it stop.
  • I need to reinstall Neverwinter Nights and 1) finish the expansion and b) play some neat mods. But Madden 2004 and game demos both have been taking my gaming time. And there are things out that I want but don't have time to play, like Soul Caliber 2 and F-Zero GX.
  • Kiera Knightly looks like an older Natalie Portman, but Natalie Portman is actually older than Kiera Knightly. The universe is filled to the brim with such conundrums.
  • I need to buy another copy of the NWN expansion and play with Alikat. You know, now that she has a computer than can play it. Hrrmmmmm.
  • I wasted my weekend working on Xerxes, gaming, and watching football. Xerxes got a new Western Digital Raptor harddrive that spins at 10000 RPM (it is FAST), and a new CPU cooler that lowered the CPU temperature 10 degrees celcius. Not bad at all.
  • I'll probably look back one day and regret wasting nice-weather weekends like that one on indoor work and entertainment. Then again, I don't really allow myself to look back with regret all that often. Sometimes it is healthy but mostly it is a distraction, and causes more harm than good. So... maybe not.
There. Done. Sometimes all the thoughts won't make a cogent post, and this is an easy out. Posted by Reid at September 8, 2003 04:10 PM | TrackBack
